Fraser Johnston

After graduating from Edinburgh University, I moved to Canada and quickly progressed through the ranks of the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors. By teaching thousands of lessons and certifying hundreds of instructors, he developed a unique insight into the snowboarding industry and the process of learning to ride. This was the inspiration for his startup Watch & Ride Online Snowboard School, an e-learning platform that delivers digital lessons.

Watch & Ride's unique snowboard education system allows riders to easily and quickly improve their skills and confidence. Snowboarders can access online lessons taught by a certified instructor at home or on the slopes to master the mountain. . The school has lessons for every type of rider, ranging from never ever to expert.

I wanted to use technology to let snowboarders ride with a coach in their pocket, making instruction conveniently accessible. My intent for Watch & Ride is to grow the sport of snowboarding, have resorts be safer places to ski, ride, and enjoy. As well as raise awareness on the value of taking lessons and improving technique.
