Akin' Harrison is an Entre-Filmmaker, Creative-Mind, Journ-Tech-savvy, Joyful-Heart, 'Lover & Friend'.

He graduated from Lagos State University (School of Communications), and had film directing training through New York film Academy. He runs Akin' Harrison Media Ltd. where he he produce film, TV, and online video works.

Akin’ Harrison, as I am widely known, is a writer and filmmaker with origins from Lagos - and I say "Eko for show!"  I studied Mass Communication at the school of Communication, Lagos State University in Nigeria. Before University I have taken special interest in English language, Yoruba language, and literature in English in High school, having been influenced by novels like Things Fall Apart (by Chinua Achebe), Crossfire (by Kalu Okpi), and stage play books like Macbeth (by William Shakespeare), The Lion and the Jewel (by Professor Wole Soyinka), and The Gods Are not to Blame (by Ola Rotimi).

I have also been working in the media and film industry since the year 2000 before publishing my first novel NaijaNation in 2019. I consider the book a great achievement for myself firstly because of its ambitious story that sets Nigeria as a country in a near-futuristic situation, and secondly because I had been working on the manuscript for fourteen years before eventually publishing the novel at the right time when Nigerians would be ready to accept a story with that type of setting at a period in time and future!

My works as a film director includes “Homely” What Men Want (2018), Oracles Online (2016, made with additional support through the Federal Government of Nigeria’s Project ACT Nollywood), Alpha Mom (2014), and Grand Scam Money Laundering (2013).

I had directing training through Lagos State/Nollywood Upgrade Masterclass in film directing by Lewis Teague (2013), and New York Film Academy Masterclass through Jonathan Whittaker (2016) and World Bank sponsored Video Production and Editing for Film/TV and filmed entertainment Growth Employment (GEM) Training (2017). I’m also a certified producer through ITPAN training school (2007), while other trainings include iREP workshops in documentary production; Legal Framework, and entrepreneurial training through Federal Government of Nigeria’s YouWIN initiative with the Pan-African University (Now Atlantic University)

So I have finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it too, to start writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our world, and I created this site with the intention to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind. Take some time to explore the contents on this site, read something interesting, and feel free to reach out if you would like to advertise or collaborate on a project together.
