NOTES ON THE ETHOS OF MY PERSONAL LIFE Life journeys I was born and raised in San Severo, Italy. I lived there until the age of 31. In September 2000, I moved to Milan where I live currently. I love life and enjoy working in Milan, the hub of commercial and financial activities in Italy. Whenever asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, my response always was a confident “many things”. I have always wished to travel, help needy people, work in a big city, and more. So far, I have had an interesting life with few regrets. Through this journey, I have acquired a sense of wisdom that does not come from a book, lecture, or even from any of the myriad theories I've studied about. It was my journey of self that has brought me to the point I am in today. I like to think that whatever I learn and share along the way can be helpful for someone or another. I would like to apply my knowledge and enthusiasm wherever I can for helping others achieve what they were trying to. Primary interests American English Language I have been studying English for several years and continue to strive to improve my fluency through courses and travel abroad. As a matter of fact, I was elected the Vice President of "N.F.A. - No Frontiers Association", a non-profit association founded in order to promote, support, and encourage foreign languages in my native town. Travel I have visited many places for pleasure and work-related purposes. I hope to continue to add to my list of soirees. What is the root of the wrong in our life? In my mind, it is ignorance, prejudice, and bigotry. How does this state of mind manifest in our own self? It does so by making us insular, lacking in empathy, and allowing ourselves to be familiar only with just our own little corner of the world. Thus, the logical question is that what is the antidote for this malaise? Travel is the answer to this perplexing query. When you push yourself out of your comfort zone and take the time to really see a different culture, you begin sipping at the antidote of the poisonous attitudes of life. Travel exposes you to different perspectives, experiences, history, culture, religions and ultimately, a better self. For me, there are three vital narratives that travel teaches us. These are the will to really feel alive, the ability to become open-minded, and the dynamics to find a better self. Fitness and Sport I have tried a number of sporting activities like body-building, hiking, biking, volley-ball, tennis, canoeing, swimming, and skiing. Although I am not an athlete, I love and enjoy working out on a regular basis. It takes simple parameters to live a healthy life. One hears a lot about having a healthy lifestyle, but what exactly does this mean? In general, a healthy person does not smoke, is of a given weight, eats healthy food, and exercises regularly. Sounds simple, does it not? To me, the trick to healthy living is making small changes, taking regular steps, adding fruit and vegetables to your diet, having an extra glass of water, and practicing a set of sport activities. These are just a few ways you can start living healthy without making any drastic changes. MY PROFESSIONAL SOJOURNS I am a manager who grew professionally in dynamic environments where business processes have always been seen in the context of compliance with quality requirements. Working in the "customer service" field has always been my passion. This has been ever since I took the first steps in my family-owned company. I think this is just the key element that allowed me to find new stimuli, even in life’s difficult moments. I face professional activities like I embrace life - with energy and optimism. The people I have been working with would describe me as a positive, confident, and a result-oriented person who has strong leadership skills. In my professional experience, I have had a chance to work for both multinational companies and family-owned businesses. The former allowed me to consolidate specific issues of my position. The latter gave me the time and space for a continuous dialogue with co-workers of other departments. I have a wide range of skills due to my efforts to be up-to-date and grow my professional assets in the customer service and logistics departments of different sectors (consumer goods, chemicals, direct marketing, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and automotives), with increasing responsibilities in all functional areas. I believe that my professional skills, personal sense of organization, and the ability to lead my team towards the goals we should achieve with a clear outlook are my strong assets. My posse of key skills: Teamwork and communication abilities: I can easily link the different stages of various processes through responsive cooperation with other departments to effectively manage the communication flow with customers in relation to the progress of the orders and follow-up of requests. Strategic vision and knowledge of financial aspects: I set the necessary guidelines to accurately deal with the change in orders and adjust with strategic accuracy for managing complaints and monitoring the customers’ requests and needs. I do this by obtaining a complete picture of the scenario starting from customer accounting valuation until the exact needs for the order are met with sincerity and loyalty. Openness to change and innovation: I am able to facilitate the process of change by persuading the involved parties via daily actions oriented towards innovation and improvement and lead by example. Leadership: Through different contexts, I have experienced a natural ability to lead, involve, motivate, and develop the skills of the team I am responsible for.
