Can you tell us a little bit about your background, including how you became an influencer. Specifically, at what point in your journey did you realize, I am an influencer?

I really, in some shape or form, have probably always been some type of leader, even when you don’t know it. So starting my first business over 25 years ago at a really young age, just coming out of college, when most people were getting jobs, I knew I wanted to be my own boss. I always joke I didn’t want someone to tell me what I could and couldn’t do. And then of course, going through trial and error after 25 years of having my own business and starting two other businesses in the last five years as well, being an author, being a professional speaker, and just really recognizing that there was a need for women to be role models that could show other women how to be successful.

And through that journey, it also meant joining organizations that were really based on showing… Maybe it’s a business organization. I’m also part of a lot of nonprofits. And through that experience, I think by accident, Andrew, which is really funny to say, by accident, people started saying, you’re inspiring me. You’re motivating me. And I said, “Wow, does that” and they’d say, “Oh, you’re such an influencer.” And I would say, “Oh wow, I guess I am.” So I think it came from a place of purpose and passion and wanting to show others that they could really live a beautiful, wonderful life. So I kind of fell into it is really the right answer.

How can influencers who are struggling with the concept of being a leader, hone their skills?

Absolutely. I love sharing that. It’s one of my favorite topics to talk about as the characteristics of a leader, of a successful leader. And really it’s all about having a vision, knowing what you want to accomplish. If it’s being somebody that’s positive and in the public eye. Another name that’s really used a lot is a public figure, which is very similar to being an influencer. And so what I’ve done is I’ve recognized that those are the things that allow me, being an influencer, being a public figure, allow me to share positive ways that others can be doing what they love and living their best life.

So being a successful leader is really based on having a vision, sharing it with passion. The second thing is having a passion, really important to have passion, because if I sit here and I talk to you and I’m not excited about talking to you, Andrew, people are going to see it. People are going to know it. And to be honest, I don’t want to do it if I’m not excited about it, that’s just kind of my personality. I get excited about the things that I do. And I’m in a place where I can do only the things I’m excited about as well.

Also, you’ve got to have courage as a leader. It’s not always easy to put yourself out there. You might have something going on in your personal life, and you’ve got to put that away and show up the best that you can for someone like you that’s taking the time to interview me, and not everybody’s good at that. And it’s really important to recognize it’s okay to be real. Please be real. Please be genuine and authentic, but also know that you want to put forth the best version of yourself, probably most of the time.

With all of your ventures that you have going on, how do you structure your average day (or maybe a week), so you can get everything done that you need to accomplish because my goodness, you are involved in a lot!

I think it’s really focused. So the easiest way that I could share that, because we could have a whole hour interview about that, is really you’ve got to understand what your goals are, and you’ve got to set goals. One of the things we do is we get so excited about the next big thing or the thing that gets put in front of us next. So I always say to my clients, please have three goals, set three goals. And if everything you’re doing during that day is not directly related to accomplishing one of those goals, put it at the bottom of your priority list, because it’s not a priority. Now we each have things that we have to do. It’s part of life, right? Get the have-tos done first, rip off the Band-Aid, then focus on the want-tos that are directly related to accomplishing your goals.

So the way that I structure my week is I live by a calendar. I even leave space on my calendar for lunch, breakfast, and dinner, really important. I get grouchy if I don’t eat. I schedule all my vacations. Vacation’s very important to me. I schedule my date nights, my family time, but also make sure you’re scheduling enough time in between your tasks and your meetings to take a deep breath, to get a glass of water. That’s another thing that a lot of people do out, which they get burned out. So my week is very structured to accomplish the most I can, because I also like to sleep and I like to take time off.

You wrote a book titled The Successful Woman’s Mindset. Can you tell us a little bit about that book, along with the jewelry line that was inspired by it?

So I started getting asked to speak about five years ago, and when I was trying to come up for a topic for one of the organizations, the National Association of Women Business Owners, I came up with The Successful Woman’s Mindset. It was so well received. So the book is a little bit different than what most people would think. Just to share with you a few chapter titles, that’ll give those that are listening a real clear. One of the chapters is called She Believes She Can. She is a Leader. She is a Work in Progress. She Does What She Loves. So these are some of the chapter titles. It really is about a woman. And by the way, a lot of men read it too, because they want to get to know what their women are thinking (or their daughters). And what happens is in this book, I’m taking you through a journey of really learning to believe in yourself, but also kind of learning about yourself.

The jewelry line came in place by accident. It’s so much fun to share that. How do you start a jewelry line by accident? I started going out and speaking during my, I call it my book speaking tour. I spoke probably about every other week in a different city. And when I was speaking, women kept asking, how can I be reminded that I’m a leader, that I should believe in myself, that I do what I love, that I’m more in progress. And those are some of the phrases on the jewelry line, which is Empowering U Essentials. And these women wanted a way to remind themselves, and what greater way than having a bracelet or a necklace that you wear that you get to look at that says, okay, I can do this.

These influencer spotlights give a quick insight into influencers and leaders. This is obviously a lot more that people can check into to better understand what you offer. So where should people go to learn about you and your services?

Absolutely. I’m all over social media, obviously, because that’s the only way that we can be an influencer, as Galit Ventura-Rozen, which is my full name, of course. And also it’s my website. GalitVenturaRozen.com.
