Though I was born in Minnesota, Florida has been home for the past 15 years. Here in St Pete Beach I'm a Realtor known as the "Fancy Lady of Real Estate," and I'm recognizable by my various hats and fashionable attire. I'm more than just a fun outfit, though. I take pride in my mid-western honed work ethic and I love helping friends and clients not just with their real estate needs, but with introducing them to our old-world beach town and Greater Tampa Bay, including all the fun and every-day places and resources that make a place home. Recently TripAdvisor voted our beach #1 in the U.S., which has been great for my business and other service providers in the area., so I've had the privilege of playing tour guide and home finder to many folks from across the U.S. I'm 50years old, a wife to a wonderful man, and the mother of two daughters, ages 16 and 20. As a family, we like to go to the beach, travel, cook and eat out, and play games like darts, Uno, and Pictionary. Further, I enjoy paddle boarding, boating/kayaking, doing DIY furniture projects, and hosting parties and gatherings with my friends, family, and clients. We live in a solar house we built a couple of years ago on the intracoastal waterway, and it has been amazing. On a beautiful day, I hop on my paddle board and just go. But it's a mixed blessing, too. Trash. I see it every day on the beach and floating in the Bay. I'm definitely a concerned environmentalist, and pray for the day when single use plastic is a thing of the past and industrialized fishing (and industrial animal farming) are banned forever. I can't stand inhumane treatment of animals or the destruction we're doing to our oceans. I'm the queen of recycling! My next round of client gifts will include a reusable grocery bag filled with earth-friendly and plastic free items. For the past few years, I've gotten more and more into restoring old furniture and chalk paint is my go-to. I just finished my first dining table and chairs set, and bought my first paint sprayer after painstakingly painting the spindles on the chairs. Yikes! My biggest DIY project was buying my first investment house in Tampa. Not sure if that counts exactly, but it sure felt like it as we were removing wall paper and painting walls and ceilings! It was so much fun. I'm excited for the next property - it's addictive! My husband and I are big wine fans. Reds - Red Zinfandel and Cabernets. We've been to Napa and Sonoma, and were planning to go to France to visit the Bordeaux region when Covid-19 happened. We also really love to tropical places in general, and I'd say St Lucia and Fiji are my two favorite places. My ex-husband is a native Italian - I married the foreign exchange student from high school. We were married for about 18 years, and we lived in Italy for about 6 months at one point. Thankfully, I had studied Italian in college and was able to communicate when we lived there. I'm not fluent, but I can fake it well enough given someone that knows to speak slowly. I love just about everything about Italy, minus my ex-husband of course! Overall, I'm a very happy person and love to be social. I started my YouTube Channel - St Pete Beach Florida Living - in the middle of 2020 (Year of the Covid Craze!). It's my way of sharing my awesome little beach town with locals, visitors and soon-to-be transplants alike. And now people are moving to Florida at the speed of light. Last I heard, there were about 4,000 people a day moving to Florida! And as for Florida real estate, about 60% of those that are buying homes, they're buying them sight unseen! It's certainly been an interesting time to be a Florida beach realtor! Prior to real estate, I was a marketing executive for 20+ years. I never thought I'd be who or where I am today, but I can say without hesitation that it's been a wonderful journey and I'm looking forward to everything that's next.
