In 2011, I discovered couponing and shared my finds online. Friends asked for me to share my process and I started a coupon blog. When the trend become extreme and fraud was rampant, the popularity of coupons hit rock bottom. I transitioned the blog to include product reviews, giveaways, and books, but the passion I had for blogging quickly turned into a chore, rather than excitement.
Just as I felt like throwing in the towel, I came across a quote that sparked that passion I'd been looking for:
"All great change in American begins at the dinner table." - Ronald Reagan, 40th President of the USA
This isn't a new concept, by any means; but it is the one thing I know I can share and hopefully make an impact on the world. American is a wonderful melting pot of people. We all come from different backgrounds, ancestors, etc. but one thing we all have potential to find common ground on is food and family.
I am a firm believer that my husband and I have such strong, close relationships with our boys because of our time at the dinner table. We try to make it a 7-night a week event; however, we know life can get crazy and some weeks it could be as few as three.
Regardless of how many days we enjoy dinner together, we make the best of it by eliminating all distractions. That means no cell phones, TV, tablets, electronics, etc. All of the outside world is put on hold so we can focus on the conversation.
It is my goal to provide y'all with recipes that make precious family time achievable in your own home. It changed our lives (for the best!) and I hope to inspire others to do the same.
Recipes that are cheap, easy, quick, and tasty will make this goal even easier to achieve. From the slow cooker to the Instant Pot, I will be sharing a little of everything to suit your personal cooking needs.
