New lower leg amputee, former long distance mountain runner looking to get get back into the mountains! I will get there. 11 kms on my leg today. As for challenges, I believe in facing them head on. I've had my prosthetic leg since October 31st, 2019 and have logged over 200 miles hiking, walking or exploring places like I have been all my life - all intentional mileage and milestones! This doesn't include me having to relearn how to walk again. I love keeping myself healthy and in good shape, diet and exercise are a part of my lifestyle. Weightlifting 3 times a week has helped me to regain my strength and mobility after not being able to walk for 3.5 years of trying to save my leg (nondiabetic). I have had a lot thrown at me, it could always be worse. I am grateful for my life, my family, laughter and having a positive attitude. It carries a person far.
