I am an enthusiastic, passionate and self-motivated individual with a strong drive to make a difference in the lives of others. I am one of the Founding Directors of Elsen Academy – an LSEN school in Port Elizabeth.
I have 30 + years’ experience in the field of education, and in particular the area of special needs education.
When I graduated as a young foundation phase teacher in 1992, I would never have thought that I would have had the courage to start a school and manage a business. Our school will be 20 years old next year.
In 2021, I managed to achieve my PhD in Inclusive Education.
I feel the most alive and productive, when helping parents with concerns involving their children and their schooling challenges, which is why I went back into private practice in 2022, and consult for Education Services, a company I started in 2022. Education Services works with schools and parents to support children with barriers to learning in the classroom.
In my spare time, I love trail-running, swimming in the ocean and spending time with my family and 2 dogs.
