The Wine Maven, Melissa Darnay, is a different sort of wine expert. She presents wine and food pairing information in a fun format that's easily accessible to everyday people. She has led hundreds of private wine tasting events, from simple wine and cheese pairings to huge catered dinners. She avoids wine snobbery and instead focuses on how people can better enjoy wine and food.

As an an unrepentant foodie, she has also created many recipes, which are presented along with their appropriate wine pairings. Because she has worked with so many chefs at various wine events, she has picked up many tips and tricks that the average amateur chef or home baker won't know about.

Melissa has traveled extensively to wine regions around the world and includes her travels in her blogs and vlogs. Although she's an American, she currently resides in a beachfront paradise in Panama with her hunky Brazilian husband and their two fluffy white dogs.

She is the author of two books about Panama--the non-fiction tell-all, "Panama Uncorked" and the mystery thriller "The Panama Affair" (available on Amazon).
