Marathon of the Island of Elba. The Sports Association "Asd Elba Runners" organizes the Marathon of the Island of Elba, a race that, probably thanks to the popularity of the oldest sport in the world, in a place with a unique charm, has become one of the most popular sporting events which take place on the island, once again and more, the influx of athletes from all over Italy, Europe and the world, (professional athletes, amateur sportsmen, walkers, enthusiasts, tourists, families , etc ..), makes it a day of sport and celebration. There are in fact over 1200 participants in the event with 3000 presences (including escorts), from 13 nationalities present from the world, attracted by the charm of the island. The organizational machine, for a whole year, worked to ensure the success of the event from all points of view (therefore not only sports). In fact, a great deal of attention has been paid to hospitality, ship transfers and catering, with ultra-convenient packages for all tastes and budgets. As far as the technical field is concerned, a path has been designed for each participating athlete (competitive and otherwise): one, the classic one of the "marathon" distance, of 42 km and 195 meters, the one of the "Half marathon", of 21 km and 97 meters, that of 10 km, and for non-competitive '' 10 km, family run of 5 km and Nordic Walking ''. The shorter paths have seen crossing the beautiful town of Marina di Campo on the waterfront and heading (slo for longer distances), towards one of the most beautiful panoramas of the island and of Italy along the coast of the sun, surrounded by nature pristine (on one side) and a blue expanse (on the other side), crossing the places with the most tourism of the whole island and then returning. For everyone, the arrival was in Marina di Campo, with the logistics of the reception of the race, with a rich buffet offered, with Radio Bruno, live music, with the massage service, with health care, with the pasta party for all, and much more.
