From a young age, I have been absolutely infatuated with makeup. As I grew up, I began to understand the importance of a healthy balance between skincare and makeup, and the importance of taking care of our canvases upon we curate our artistry of makeup. My journey with skincare and makeup, and the wellness and beauty industry as a whole, has become a critical part of who I am today. Additionally, I have always had a keen interest in branding and marketing. I have curated my educational path and work experience in a way that complements my future career in branding and marketing. This Fall, I will be attending the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at USC as a Communication major, and an emphasis on Business Marketing. Additionally, my work experience in customer service at a luxury gym in Los Angeles, experience at the front lines of the electronic dance music industry, and role as a digital media strategist for an interior design company enable me to connect to consumers in an individualized way as a well-rounded individual. Today, media and the beauty industry go hand in hand. When searching for the best in cosmetics and skincare, consumers turn to gurus, influencers, and brands’ media accounts on Youtube, Instagram, Twitter, and more. Media has the greatest impact on what people perceive as attractive; the ubiquity and influence of advertisements have succeeded in manipulating standards of beauty. I love to support beauty and wellness brands that allow their consumers the freedom to discover their own beauty, and simultaneous to the continuous pressure women feel to conform to old societal norms, supports customers build confidence about their beauty.
