Growing up as a dancer I always felt a deep connection to the physical body. I first discovered yoga during my college BFA program when my dance teachers suggested it as a way to build strength. Yoga surprised me because I found it to be extremely challenging; however, my yoga teachers encouraged letting go of self-judgement which made the practice playful and fun. I loved how content and happy yoga made me feel and I wanted to share this with my community.
Immersing myself in all parts of yoga, I became certified to teach in 2013 and now have over 1,000 hours of training from Kripalu School of Yoga and Pure Yoga NYC with advanced studies in mediation, pranayama, ashtanga, therapeutics, thai massage and yin yoga. Classes with me combine athletic sequencing with inner focus and breath work. As we quiet the mind and center in the present moment students are encouraged to find their individual freedom in a flow of dynamic movement and an intention of compassionate self-acceptance.
