Gustavo Martins da Cruz

Born on January 24, 1981, in Mozambique, I am a proud Mozambican with a deep connection to Africa's rich cultural heritage. My family—my spouse and three children—are my source of inspiration, driving my commitment to excellence and meaningful impact.

My education began in Maputo, where I graduated in 1999. I later earned a Licentiate Degree in Security and Management from the University of Leicester in 2016, followed by an MBA in Leadership and Management in 2020. I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA), with an expected completion in 2027. My academic journey has fueled my passion for contributing to Mozambique’s development, shaping my professional and personal pursuits.

With over 25 years of leadership experience, my career is founded on visionary thinking, ethical integrity, and a commitment to innovation and excellence. I am recognized for crafting forward-thinking strategies, inspiring high-performing teams, and fostering creativity within organizations. My leadership is guided by a philosophy of creating lasting, positive change, teamwork, and empowering individuals to reach their full potential.

As CEO of Sociedade Moçambicana de Medicamentos, SA (SMM), I lead with strategic vision, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector. Additionally, I serve as CBRO at FARMAC S.A., appointed by IGEPE, and as President of Circular Economy Solutions at FORLEAD Moçambique, where I advocate for sustainability. I also teach as an Adjunct Faculty member for Executive Education at ISUTC.

I am Non-Chairman of the Board at Green Credits, positioning Mozambique in the global carbon market, and co-founded ARLog Moçambique and Innometrics Solutions EI, both focused on risk management and logistics optimization. I am also the Founder of the Mozambique Business Community, promoting ethical business practices in the country.

In addition to these roles, I host the Caminhos do Executivo Podcast, mentor on The Mentor You and YouPersona platforms, and co-founded AMEEA, committed to empowering women in business. I also spearheaded Community Carbon, a startup tackling energy poverty through sustainable biomass projects in Mozambique.
