Kerkhove Dominique, alias Dom(K) is a self-taught artist. European citizen, tireless walker and patient observer, he searches on the walls of cities what makes my raw material: the poster. Ecological Realistic, he uses what already exists to transform it. He creates "MadeReady" (or collages) from torn posters. He breathes a new destiny into an ephemeral urban creation doomed to destruction to make a contemporary work that is part of time. Freed from the straitjacket of a specific doctrine, he nevertheless recognises a technical proximity used by certain artists: exploitation of under-posters (Dufresnes), everywhere (Pollock), take-off (Vostell). The MadeReady is not a style of collage but an approach that expresses itself through a plurality of pictorial forms, the central element of which is the paper (poster) coming (torn) from an urban context. Despite various attempts at hierarchical classification, his work is by no means allegorical. It is concrete and materialistic. It is a narrative work of embodiment.
