The story of June & Waffles began in 2016 when Russ and Bethany found an orphan raccoon that was only a few days old and had more ant bites than hair. Determined to give her a chance and equipped with wildlife rehabilitation experience, the couple raised the raccoon. Named June for the month in which she was found, the raccoon flourished; however, she had different plans when it was time to be released into the wild. June refused to leave and instead made herself a free-roaming house raccoon. When June was one year in age, a puppy was added to the family - Waffles, a Hungarian Vizsla. The two were instant best friends and continue to create mischief and trouble together.
