Akshat Mohite is a Scientist Astronaut Candidate trainee for NASA's flight opportunities programme PoSSUM. He is the Former Chief Technology Officer at Spaceonova, and former president of National Space Society (USA) - Mumbai. Dr. Ravi Margasahayam (JPL - NASA solar system ambassador and the one who sent Kalpana Chawla and 700+ astronauts to the International Space Station) presented him with the NASA Kennedy Space Centre pin from Astronaut Robert Cabana (Director KSC, NASA).

Space Nations has chosen him for astronaut training in Iceland, and NASA is supporting this mission/expedition. Four of his research papers were accepted by the International Aeronautical Federation, the world's largest aeronautical society, and he was invited to present them in America and Dubai. In his specialty, more than five of his research publications have been published. His research work was chosen for the NASA Ames Space Settlement Contest 2018 and 2019, and he was invited to present it in Washington and Los Angeles. He has been advocating for the planet's well-being and representing India on a global scale. currently he is working on a startup.
