What I did... My background is newspaper and magazine journalism, mostly within the women’s lifestyle and consumer sector. I started life as a reporter on a daily newspaper (where I learned to write fast or go home!) before moving to Dubai to work on magazines and websites. I returned to the US in 2018 and have spent the last seven years as a freelance journalist as well as creating content for private clients and offering media advice. What I do now... Most of my work these days is with small businesses, ensuring the words they use have the maximum impact. Some clients need all of their copy creating from scratch whereas others would rather write their own for me to tidy up and fit into the spaces they have to fill - like websites, newsletters, blogs, brochures and books.
