Whether a musical gift develops naturally or otherwise, an artist needs to invest the proper amount of time once they discover music will be their true calling. Born in the Eastern cape of South Africa, Sibusiso Msesiwe began singing in a choir at age six. But it was two years later when the artist now named Cee Boo focused on her career goals by teaching herself to play the piano, which birthed a lifelong philosophy in developing unique learning curves.
“In the process of curiosity, you make mistakes, learn and grow because you have no scope or boundary to limit you,” says the singer/songwriter/musician. Eventually, CeeBee discovered her voice performing Afro-soul, R&B, house music or any genre that expressed her positive outlook on life. As an extremely popular artist who has appeared throughout South Africa, she finally released her solo debut, Breaking Dawn.
Our First Listen spotlight introduces Cee Boo, who drops old school with the R&B ballad off Breaking Dawn entitled “As the Seasons Change.” This track, which centers on keeping the romance afire - no matter what time of the year - is painted with sultriness by Cee Boo’s steady pipes. The mellow soundtrack co-produced by the artist gently sways with a sweet rhythm bed, filled with guitar and strings. We look forward to hearing more from Cee Boo and that she will finally bring her well invested gifts to the U.S. Check out “As the Seasons Change.”
