My life’s passion is drawing, painting and fashion. According to it, I’ve chosen fashion design course at Istituto Marangoni. Only after school I’ve understood that my future profession will be connected with painting, art and fashion. At first I was very interested in book illustration and finished one studying year in this field. But now I understood that I have a greatest interest and passion in fashion and painting.
During the studies at Istituto Marangoni I gained a huge experience in fashion field. It gave me competence in garment construction, pattern cutting, sewing and details developing in womenswear. We’ve learned how to develop designs and collections with illustrations, sketches, mood boards, colour/fabric/print/details chart, specification sheets, technicals, how to undertake primary and secondary research into development of design ideas.
In my work I use different techniques, such as oil painting, watercolor and graphic drawings. On foundation course I’ve widen the range of my skills, started include to my work experimental sculpture, more sketches, small drawings and a lot of photographs. During my work, I start with research of a subject (go to museum, take photos, investigate social mood, find the concept), than make some notes and sketches. After that I choose the best one and make it on large scale.
My inspiration comes from nature, environment, works of artists, photographers and designers. I’m fond of creative ideas and techniques of Claude Monet, Van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Tom Thompson, Franklin Carmichael and Fragonard. John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, Tom Ford also have influenced on the way of my work. My favorite exhibitions are: Wallace Collection, Painting Canada, New art from Germany, Frank Stella. In my free time I try to watch new collections, exhibitions, read art/fashion magazines.
