Maria DeCotis is a NYC based actress, writer, and comedian from Fayetteville, Georgia where she famously Christmas caroled for Big Boi at age 12. She graduated with her BFA in Acting, from Boston University with a concentration in Playwriting and worked with Commedia dell'Arte professionals in Italy. She has been reviewed by Time Out New York, Broadway World, and The Boston Globe.
Maria opened for Mike Birbiglia on Broadway, appeared on Comedy Central, performed at the HBO Women in Comedy Festival, and the New York Comedy Festival. She wrote and hosted a show for the New York Post called Win the Weekend and was a staff comedy writer for Mezu Money Time. She has completed the most advanced level of study at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and her improv group The Sister Wives won UCB Cage Match. She hosts comedy shows at Club Cumming, Ferns, and The Pit. She is a ukulele singer-songwriter (iTunes and Spotify) and Lindy Hopper. Onstage, Maria likes to explore feminism and spaghetti.
