2020 was a year of change and learning! On the 18th March when Covid 19 spanned the glob and the world started to Lock down myself Lesa, along with my partner Ted and our two dogs Hanz and Bessie, decided to turn our lives upside down and begin the adventure of a lifetime. We through in our jobs, packed up the car, moved to France and purchased an abandoned, 14th century Historical Monument “Chateau De Montmagner”. With no previous experience and just £80,000 budget and a tent as a temporary home, we took on the mammoth task of transforming this former house of tabellion into a family home and thriving business. With such a small budget we have a lot of skills to learn along the way and doing all of the work ourselves. But now going into our second year of renovation and with phase one half way to completion we are hopefully that this beautiful piece of history will be open for the public to view by the end of the summer 2021. However, there are 5 phases to our project, not just the renovation of the buildings but also starting a business with 4 self-catering accommodations, a Restaurant, medieval venue, 12th century coaching Inn and lake, there is so much more for us to achieve over the next 5 years.
