A little about me: I'm a 27 year old based in Hertfordshire, England, and I love to write. My career for the past 5 years has been in marketing and content creation (including video and copywriting), but since the COVID-19 pandemic I've reassessed some things, such as - why am I not spending more time fulfilling my passions? It's for this reason that, in mid-2020, I launched a YouTube channel, followed by a blog in early 2021.
I'm new to creating content of my own, but an expert at creating content for others (need some proof? Just ask!). However, as a person with a lot of passions to indulge (travel, language learning and connecting with others being the biggest of all...), the time feels right to go out there and shout about the things that I love, or what makes my world go round. This could be anything from a hotel recommendation to financial advice for tourists in Hong Kong, which apps are best for learning Japanese, or which Korean skincare items deserve pride of place on your shelf. (I can also talk for days about food, but that's something we can get into later.)
Other topics I'm passionate about include mental health. I'm very vocal about having lived with depersonalisation disorder from the age of 11 years old - this is a chronically under-discussed condition which, despite limited coverage, some 1.3 million people in the UK are thought to suffer from. I'm proud to have been interviewed by the charity Unreal ahead of their launch event, with footage from our interview being featured throughout the event. I also talk about depersonalisation and mental health on my YouTube channel, alongside other lifestyle-related content.
What else is there to say about [link-omitted], I live with my partner of 8 years and our lovely spaniel Harley. I'm also in the process of buying my first house (eek!), so do expect lots of content about that coming up in the future!
