I started The Thrifty Bride back in 2019 when I was in the middle of planning my own wedding. I wanted a relaxed, low budget wedding and struggled to find any resources covering the kind of wedding I wanted so I decided to create my own! The blog quickly grew from a place where I discussed my own wedding into a space for wedding tips, budgeting ideas and stunning real life budget wedding features. My blog has become a number one resource for advice on giving notice of marriage.
In 2021 my blog won a Yorkshire Blogger Award in the finance category and in 2022 I was lucky enough to win again at the Yorkshire Blogger Awards, this time in the wedding category. I have been featured in several news articles and been a guest on podcasts to discuss the world of small budget weddings.
My own wedding finally took place in August 2021 after postponing for a year due to the pandemic!
