Those who’ve had nothing in life handed to them tend to grab at any opportunity that comes their way with both hands. Rapper BFM Mitch’s life has been void of things coming to him easy. The oldest of four children, he started robbing houses when he was a teenager with his stepfather. There was no solidarity in their teamwork as his partner and supposed parental figure turned his back and let BFM Mitch land behind bars at the tender age of 12-years-old. He spent his formative years not only in and out of the juvenile system but also focusing on music. BFM Mitch used all of that pent-up aggression and the reality of his unstable homelife and channeled it into music. He notes of his sound, “You feel the pain and struggle behind it.” Now 2 years shy of 30, the St. Louis rapper is ready to make his mark as the indie underdog of the hip-hop world. He dropped his premier single in January 2018, “Hottest N**** That was followed by February’s “Savage.” If the adolescence behind bars wasn’t enough to inspire his debut, he also bounced from house to house when he wasn’t locked up. His mother’s drug addiction made it hard for them to stay in one place. One would think his struggle ended there, but nope - a car wreck almost took his life at 16, as did the four times he’s been hit with a bullet.
