Julian King is an emerging singer/songwriter, who is breaking into the music industry with the poise and class of a seasoned veteran. Born in a military family, King moved frequently but cut his musical teeth in his birthplace, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As an alum of the acclaimed Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts, King shares a similar foundation with such notable graduates as Questlove of The Roots, R&B singer Jazmine Sullivan, and the legendary harmonizing quartet Boyz II Men. King went on to attend the University of the Arts, where he graduated with a degree in Vocal Performance. Fresh off a run on NBC’s The Voice, where he placed in the Top 32, King’s recent accomplishments include performing in two successful revue-style shows, Motor City Live and Disco, in Atlantic City at the new Hard Rock Hotel and Casinoas well as MGM National Harbor D.C, The Jimmy Lee Tour with Raphael Sadiq in Philadelphia, touring five-star hotels in China for a year, performing the National Anthem for the Philadelphia 76ers, singing background vocals for Syleena Johnson, John legend and Monica, opening for Mary J. Blige, and doing a set for Wawa Welcome America in Philadelphia. King is also the first recipient of the Songwriter’s hall of Fame, Curtis Mayfield Scholarship Award for singers/songwriters. King just released his debut album, “Made in China” with features from some of his fellow Voice mates Shawn Sounds, and Kalvin Jarvis. With his definitive style and formidable talent, King is on a fast trajectory to be the next world-class entertainer and icon.
