After spending five years in television in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Meteorologist Jesse Vinturella expanded his reach on Facebook to cover weather/news stories for the entire Gulf Coast. The Gulf Coast Hurricane Updates page was created in August of 2013, and since then the page has accumulated nearly 90,000 likes/followers across the entire Gulf Coast Throughout the year, people depend on and trust the information provided through many different types of posts, including pictures, videos, and most importantly the live updates. These updates reach more than 25,000 viewers per live video during an active storm period.
