Irene Ashu is a Director, Choreographer, and Creative Director/Producer. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2015, Irene has worked with an array of artist such as SZA, Lady Donli, P!NK, Superfruit, Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Hudson, David Guetta, Afrojack, DJ Carnage, WIZKID, Fanny Neguesha, AlunaGeorge, Chris Brown, Big Sean, Jeremih, SHIN, Carrie Underwood, Little Mix, Beba Rexha, MAJOR LAZER, and more. Most recently Ashu directed, wrote, and casted Serena Williams most recent commercial campaign “S… is For Story”. Ashu most recent pilot “Hamsters Manifesto” was just picked up by indie musee SCA. The 8 episode series is expected to be released fall 2019. Beyond The Present: Ashu has worked as a director, choreographer, and producer for notable brands such as Apple (XQ Super School Special), Sony, Google, Android, LG, Toyota “Style Never Goes Out Of Style”, Irvine Auto Center, Coolhaus Ice Cream, Under Armour, Hollister “Carpe Now”, and The Late Late Show With James Corden. From studying in Tokyo To Rio To Paris, Irene has developed a notable style of commercial/TV/ Film direction & music video direction/choreography. As a creative director Irene has designed concepts and directed videos for companies such as [link-omitted]ISTE, Museum Of Neon Art, Sadie Jane, and PUMA. A career highlight was when Irene had the privilege of performing with P!NK for her Michael Jackson Video Vanguard performance on MTV. It was a monumental moment as choreographer and movement director. Lee, and Jake Wilson. Beyond Her Work, Irene is Cameroonian activist and the owner of Dance For A Cause. Dance For A Cause is non-profit that gives underprivileged children & teens the opportunity to learn about jobs like directing, choreographing, producing, and more. Cameroon is heavily male dominated industry and Ashu hopes to open doors for more women (Non-Binary & Binary) that want to pursue careers in art. Ashu hopes to continue on her current path and eventually direct a feature film. Irene is currently based in Los Angeles & Paris, France. Dance/Choreography Background: Irene prides herself in creating from an honest place. The diverse dancer/choreographer has studied in styles such as Hip Hop, Locking, Popping, Samba, Breaking, Jazz, and Contemporary. Irene grew up studying funk styles and all elements of Hip Hop. Irene style is mixture of contemporary movement, hip hop foundations, samba, and street jazz. Irene’s style is anything she wants it to be. Her style and energy is an accurate representation of her personality — always keeping you guessing. Irene has worked with various choreographers such as: RJ Durrell, Nick Florez, Tony Testa, Jillian Meyers, Vincent Paterson, Katie Schaar, Cassidy Noblett, Dana Foglia, Marty Kudelka, Zack Reece, Krystal Meraz, Pharside, Chris Thomas, Mark Kanemura, Anthony Lewis, Cassandra Stoppel, Jonia Mcclenney, and more. The versatile dancer/choreographer is adaptable to almost any setting and age group. Irene has traveled the throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and South America dancing, teaching, and training.
