Devyn Rush wins hearts with every dazzling appearance. She has emerged as a powerhouse singer whose versatile and sultry vocals breathe spirituality, color, and depth into her art. Rush’s voice is a beautifully unique mix of jazz, gritty soul, poppy riffs & theatrical purity that is both deeply nostalgic and wonderfully contemporary. Her fearless passion and deep desire to connect with her viewers & listeners, can be felt in every performance. She has become a sought-after vocalist for session work & live performance in Los Angeles & New York City.

Devyn grew up in a small, artistic town in Pennsylvania, where every nook and cranny of her home was filled with music. During high school, Devyn fell in love with jazz and accepted the opportunity to play upright bass and sing lead vocals in her school's jazz band, winning vocal awards at nearly every competition. That was the start of her life-long love of performing with a big band, and her projects today support that passion. Rush is currently the lead female vocalist in Hefti Plays Hefti - a 9-piece band, created by Paul Hefti, that celebrates the music of his father -
the late composer/arranger, Neal Hefti.

Since she was very young, Devyn has been writing and performing her own cabarets to sold-out audiences. When she was 15, Devyn originated the role of Anna in the 2007 Tony Award-winning musical, Spring Awakening, performing in the heralded Allen Room at Lincoln Center. After graduating high school, she didn’t skip a beat. Devyn moved right to New York City to continue her performing career. She soon dove deeply into her passion for song-writing and has since become a prominent asset to the song-writing community, with songs she has co-written being recorded by other artists in countries such as Austria, Japan, and Korea.

Since being featured on American Idol, Rush has used her gifts and spotlight to positively impact people all over the world. She now works closely with the bully prevention organization, Hey U.G.L.Y. ([link-omitted].), singing her original songs and speaking at schools all over the United States, empowering students to become part of the solution to bullying. Devyn was a recent guest on The Steve Harvey Show, where she spoke about her role with Hey U.G.L.Y. as she coached a young girl through a tough time.

Rush continues to pursue her career, residing in Los Angeles and singing with many of the heaviest hitters in the jazz scene. Many more projects are in the works, and there are new updates all the time!
