Courtney Warwick, also known as @blkgirlgrnthumb on social media is not just your typical plant mom from Long Beach. She’s also a wife and mother of two young kings, sneaker lover, true hip hop head and an avid book reader. Since the day she saw her dad in a pair of 1985 Jordan 1’s, she was in love and you can still find her in a fresh pair of classic sneakers because they’re timeless and represent who she is at her core- confident and comfortable with being truly herself. Although some things don't change, for this queen, a lot has evolved- from her loc journey, vegan lifestyle, growing family (hey Zoe!), and most significantly is her passion for plants. Like many people during the peak of the pandemic, self-care went from an idea to a true journey. Court realized that her passion for plants was an outlet and created an atmosphere for peace and joy. Since then, Court continues to grow alongside her plants and has rebranded herself with her “I Rap To My Plants” clothing and homegoods releases, and her “Sneakers and Plants” photo series which brings together other fly ass people of color throughout the country who look like her and also share a deep love for plants and sneakers.
“My goal is to create a space where we can all be celebrated.” - Courtney
