Brenda Perdue, inspired after winning 1st place in the category of Contemporary World Fusion as MCCLA’s choreographer in 2014 & decided to start her own Carnaval Comparsa group called, “United Rhythms of San Francisco” in 2016. URSF is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year. URSF specializes in World Rhythms featuring Brazilian, Reggae, Soca, West African, All Latino Rhythms and Hip Hop. URSF provides high-intensity routines that build cardiovascular fitness while improving dance technique, endurance and coordination. The group thrives with collaborative ties to the community volunteering their time to share a component of their culture . Brenda Perdue incorporates her educational background (BA in Criminal Justice, case management, counseling, and legal training) and field experience to provide self-healing, stress reduction, clarity & inspirational direction through the art of dance fitness. United Rhythms is a proud collaborator in the community of Carnaval SF and celebrates the various dances and cultures from all over the world annually while giving our dancers the opportunity to reconnect, strengthen, inspire and pay homage to our indigenous roots.
