Beth Ann Short grew up around the Great Lakes region, living in both Michigan and Ontario throughout her youth. A strong lover of art history Short's work in fine art, as well as in their clinical role as an art therapist, radiates their desire to relate to all individuals with respect and honor.
Beth Ann Short is a nationally registered and board certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC) with the Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB). They are also a member of the American Art Therapy Association (AATA). Short has been an art therapist for 20 years and has worked in private practice for 13 years in their open studio, 100th Monkey Studio, seeing individuals and groups. Their clinical background specializes in art therapy, although Short has also been trained in traditional verbal methodologies, play therapy, family therapy, sand tray therapy and photo-therapy. Short taught adjunct at Marylhurst University (2016-18) and currently is adjunct for Lewis & Clark and Heritage University offering introductory art therapy classes for both undergraduate and graduate students. Short is also available to schedule speaking engagements focused on wellness, mindfulness, team development and the field of art therapy. In October 2016 Short published Creative Wellness: Art Journaling with Mindfulness. Since publication Short has gone on to educate both clients and practicing clinicians in the technique developed in the book. In 2019 Short launched the Creative Wellness Series, which includes downloadable Mindful Mantra Meditations, Individual Creativity Sessions (in person and online), and the Mindful Creative Workshop.
