We met at work and one day decided to go for a ride to Agumbe. The ride spanned throughout the night taking us into the deep jungles into an obscure campsite at 1am. The next day we discovered the bike rim was broken due to some potholes we hit at night. Marooned in the jungle, with no one around, no network and no transportation, we worked together to reach the nearest village and tow our bike to Bangalore. On the truck ride back to Bangalore, we got to talk and discovered we both love travelling. And in a few days we got together as a couple!
Archana is the troublemaker, the happy-go-lucky character and the outgoing personality. So full of energy, ideas and conversations, that it sometimes gets hard for me to keep up with her!! The brains behind Travelmynation, Archana inspired me to get online and document our travels together. She is my biggest critic and constantly pushes me to be a better person. She is an amazing travel companion, very accommodating and ready to face any challenge. A strong spirit, loving nature, positive attitude and gutsy character are qualities that make me admire and respect her! Looking forward to a lifetime of adventures with her.
Vidur has been travelling across India since he was a 5-year-old kid. It’s been 3 years since I met him and we fell in love during our first ride together. Life has been a roller coaster since then. He is a biker, a photographer, a loving husband, and also has a small riding group of his own which he lovingly calls the VIP group. Vidur loves travelling to offbeat locations and I must agree that he is very adept at finding locations which are lesser known and less crowded. Being a biker, he loves with his KTM (more than his wife). One thing that I admire most about him, is his riding capability, great control, proper indications and good knowledge of the rules of the road. When I am his pillion I know I am safe no matter what. That’s his passion for his rides. I don’t like his driving though coz I believe he drives his car like he rides his bike.
We are nothing like each other and maybe that’s what binds us together. No decision is every made without having our little fights about it. While Archana is the spunk in our relationship, the crazy one with wild ideas, the dreamer and the naughty one, Vidur is more logical, analytical and looks at things with a realistic approach. Archana is a typical Assamese girl and Vidur, the not so typical Punjabi munda! We have our roti vs rice, chicken vs fish and aaloo jeera vs aaloo pitika days! With so many differences between us, it leaves a lot for us to learn about each other and travelling has been a great tool in facilitating the journey of our relationship!
