Loyiso Gwanya is a Royal Mpondomise duke also known as "Louie Lee" the East London based Film Producer, Writer, Director and Photographer from the Kingdom of the Eastern Cape.

Born in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, the son of Nomhle Gwanya, a teacher of fnancial accounting, and Thozi Gwanya, a farmer and rural development practitioner.

Louie also has three siblings Siki, Bella, and Dezz. Growing up he went to multi racial 'model c' schools so some of his friends could not pronounce his name and they would say something like Loowisoo being the nice guy that he is he let them get off easy and they just adapted it to Louie so that nickname stuck from primary then later in his adulthood he added Lee from his film daddy inspiration Spike Lee who groomed many know black film actors and filmmakers.
