Once I graduated from pastry school, leandrascakes soon became my main focus which I created many different pastries to promote my custom cakes, cookies, cake pops, cupcakes and much more!
With recently battling health issues, I decided that I needed to change my diet and step away from what I thought to be healthy choices. This can be very difficult in today's standard way of eating, not only are you limiting you eating habits but you are now seeing your friends and family enjoying the meals and treats that you once used to.
So where does this leave leandrascakes? Throughout the years I always knew that I wanted to create healthier snacks but I didn't know where to start. Having a health battle pushed me to move forward in this process and my passions for healthier baked goods came to life. Experimenting with ingredients such as gluten free flours, non dairy milk and egg replacements. Though I still make regular sweets and decadent treats, I really love having the option to those out there that are having certain tolerances or even attract those with no health issues to potentially make different food choices for themselves.
I've come to learn that having an unhealthier snack once in a while is OK! Being aware is what I wish for people, having knowledge on what you put into your body. Having a piece of cake every once in a while is not harmful as long as you don't go overboard and get back on track with health journey. This is why I've turned my focus on cakes to healthy treats.
